Speedrunning Anonymous 03/31/2023 (Fri) 14:02:11 No.1921
Is speedrunning full on autistic? I can't imagine a nightmare worse than replaying the same game over and over again thousands of times just to get on some irrelevant leader board. They don't even like the games they run. Do not confuse trying to get good at a game and beat it efficiently with actual speedrunning autism.
It went to something I thought looked like mild fun to a tranny pipeline.
>>1922 Oh I wasn't even getting into the tranny business but that does run together with autism, isn't it.
>>1921 vid related obligatory
>>1936 lol, based self-deprecating chad
Speedrunning can be fun to watch on some occasion and depending on the game but doing it? Fuck no, full on autismo mode. And yeah not to mention the troons. You cannot watch GDQ anymore because there are gross troons on screen all the time and everything is smothered with troon paraphernalia. There's ESA but it's ESL so it's unwatchable most of the time.
also here is the longer cut
>>1936 >>1940 Is he doing this shit for money I wonder if he's so miserable? Like he's in the paypig deathloop...
>>1939 for some reason, GTA speedruns are the most fun to watch for me
>>1941 Mostly its an addiction and he gets dopamine high from doing a speedrun successfully. He does have a twitch channel with 29k subs, couple of youtube channels with one being over a 100k subs that he probably runs ads on and of course a patreon that makes $732 a month. So yeah he makes money but that money allows him to sit there and fill that dopamine rush he craves. https://www.twitch.tv/rwhitegoose https://www.youtube.com/@GamerFolklore https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVZzJEtr86OZXzdaBBKShtw
what's with trannies and speedrunning?

>>1954 what a specimen
>>1960 >I remember when my daddy punched me
>>1953 It's wind resistance thing. They chop off their dick and reduce muscle mass with HRT to reduce surface space as much as possible.
>>1978 Does this make them faster at speedrunning?
>>1980 Maybe they tap buttons faster?
Site ate my post. Long story short. Speedrunning is a monumental waste of time and anti-fun. The only good thing to come out of it is a speedrunner manga. (RTA Sousha wa Game Sekai kara Kaerarenai)
>>2029 >Site ate my post. what happened?
>>2030 I refreshed the page
>>2031 Oh well. I like the manga tho.
I've seen it done non-autistically by friends who are just competing to see who can beat the game the fastest, like a modern-day equivalent of high scores at your local arcade. Anyone who actually grinds hours upon hours past the point where it's fun just for the sake of a WR is definitely autistic though
>>2033 >I've seen it done non-autistically by friends who are just competing to see who can beat the game the fastest That's not speedrunning tho, see the OP. That's just a good ol' time trial, nothing wrong with that. If your friends had an OBS with a timetable running and were resetting the game each time they didn't hit green on a segment, then they'd be autistic.

Imagine playing some shitty movie tie-in PS1 game thousands of times over and over again...
>>2149 Fuck you, a bug's life is great you nigger.
>>2177 even if it somehow is, playing it 5000 times isn't.
>opening up cheatengine to give your game values that it was eventually going to get anyway by process of RNG, is a bannable offense >doing a bunch of bullshit with in-game items in the first level that makes the game glitch out so hard that it basically hands you a win on a silver platter, is a world record speedrun What did speedtrannies mean by this?
>>2180 If it's done in-game then it's part of the game and therefore a part of beating it. That being said, there's a larger debate of whether cheating the game is even speedrunning. The whole point of a speedrun is to showcase your skills at running the game fast, but at some point the idea that just getting to the ending any means necessary is also a "speedrun". For example, 4-hour long GTA speedruns are some of the most watched ones because it's interesting to watch the ultimate resource and time management. But there is also a way to cheat GTAs with some rng value management shit and skip 90% of the game to get to the ending. Those don't get nearly as many views. You got to the ending but you didn't actually get good at the game and beat it.
I used to watch that summoning salt guy, but whether due to his content becoming stale and stagnant, or just me losing interest in the subject matter in general, I stopped.
>>2190 Honestly that's the problem with speedrunning, other then the community being filled with troons. It gets stale quickly. Sure you can watch some autist beat Mario 64 in 30 minutes and be impressed, but to watch them do it 500 times to try and shave a fraction of a second off is fucking mind numbing.
>>2191 Yeah and the narrative is always the same: nobody thought it was possible but then some autist came and shaved off 0.2 seconds, and then nobody thought it was possible but then some autist came and shaved off 0.1 seconds. Loop infinitely. Once in a long while some game with a really interesting breaking mechanism comes about but other than that it's all monotone garbage you need to be autistic to enjoy for more than a couple of months.
I feel like in the 00s speedrunning was kinda wholesome. Even if you check those summoning salt videos, they're always the same and have the same beginning: >some dude in 2008 speedran the game for the first time but he wasn't autistic enough and made a lot of "mistakes" and was basically just playing the game for enjoyment fast. But then schizo troons started running it 5000 times a week and lowered the time to 12 minutes and that's a good thing! But basically people just tried to play games fast without excessive autism. I remember the SDA being pretty comfy.
>>2268 that's how everything was pre-CY - leisurely and comfy, you didn't have to dodge socjust cancer and social media autism left and right every which way

The absolute state.
when did trannies start seeping into the scene?
>>2874 I'd imagine when they discovered gaming in general - mid '10s.

>>2190 It's sorta fun to see an explanation of the runners chopping off whole minutes from a run instead of their cocks :^) due to a radical change in strategy or a previously unknown wild glitch, but otherwise hearing someone drone on about shaving off milliseconds is boring as shit because at that point nothing new is happening. It's near impossible to keep any of it interesting enough for returning viewers that aren't massive spergs themselves. It's not even good background noise.
>>3457 Also, there's a limited amount of games where speedrunning is even remotely interesting in any context. I remember his Mario Kart episode where some autismo was setting a record after record and everyone else was collectively trying to match him; it's a fun narrative and watching how they tackle all the different courses, so varied in nature, and all the rules that apply to them, was entertaining. But then you look at most of his other videos, and speedruns in general, and it's just monotonous droning on and on about how somebody shaved 0.3 seconds by running underneath a block instead of above it. Just like any vidya youtuber he ran out of content that it's actually interesting to talk about long ago.
Even speedrunning channels seem to be dying out. I wonder why...

>>3471 Funny, I say that and he releases a new video that's a carbon copy of that one. I guess the jewtube views are getting thinner.
>>4066 Can't speedrun modern shit. 99% of speedruns are retro games.
>>4066 Let's make that 51% into a 100%.
>>4609 Many such cases.
>>4609 At least he didn't troon out.
>>4621 well...
>go to any speedrunning site >80% of games are old, pre 7th gen lmao, speedrunning a modern game is just holding X to skip cutscenes
>>5874 None of them seem to have glitches that help with going faster either. They just have the shitty glitches that make characters do wonky movements or break the game to unplayability and other such trash that old school devs would feel never ending embarrassment over.
>>5875 And obviously the game designed has changed, or rather disappeared. How do you speedrun a modern empty open world wasteland game, even GTA speedruns take like 5 hours and those have so much going on to mess with.
>>5881 it's funny, modern games are buggy unfinished messes yet you can't use none of that to aid you in speedrunning them
>>1921 I pretty much only watch classic GTA speedruns now. Don't know why it still is interesting but everything else I completely grown out of watching.
>>5874 >is just holding X to skip cutscenes If only. Modern games have the worst of unskippable cutscunes - walking and talking shit, and standing and listening shit.
