>Part of the problem is that scientifists are derelict in their duty to glorify God.
This. It was commonly within the historical purview of Christians to both devise & advance science, medicine, education, technology, &tc., &tc. The things commonly-appreciated today as "elevating the human condition" in general.

The satanic warping of all these formerly-wonderful endeavors during
Current Year has come, I think, due to the men of God (males specifically) abrogating this Christian imperative and walking away from sound teachings and doctrines -- and that being the result of insidious attacks by Satan + his
(((useful, shabbos golems))) (ever
nootice all the warped crap coming from kikes today within these above-listed domains?)
As a minor researcher in this area, I consider so-called "Young-Earth Creationism" (YEC) to be a prime example of this misdirection / deception cycle. The >tl;dr here is that there isn't an unassailable biblical argument for this position (quite the opposite, in fact [1, 2] ); nor is there support for it from God's second, metaphorical "book" (ie, the nature around us [3] ).
Christians pursuing this folly (primarily due to the influences of
Archbishop James Ussher +
Dake's Annotated Bible, IMO) has led to millions and millions of otherwise-neutral, outside onlookers utterly rejecting Christianity outright, as being a preposterous mythology right up there with
Flying Spaghetti Monsters. And quite frankly, I wouldn't even blame these skeptics if the Bible
did in fact claim that the
entire universe (incl. everything within it: galaxies, stars, Sun, Moon, Earth, human beings, etc.)
was only ~6'000 years old! However, it makes no such claim and there's the rub related to Christian men abandoning our rationality.
There are many other examples of this "turning from the truth" phenomenon, but this is one of the most-poignant to me personally.
