I don't understand how games cost more to make than movies now. For movies you have big actor, sets, props, staff etc. For a game it's just a bunch of nobodies in a office.

Generally speaking at least half of a triple A game's development budget goes towards marketing, or at least the last I heard. So in this case the actual cost to make those games is probably closer to 100million freedombux. And since a lot of western game devs fill their team with overpaid diversity hires that don't actually do anything that leaves the ever shrinking minority of competent developers to do all the work for games that are increasingly more work to make stretching out dev time and thus cost. That's why games can take 8 years to make and still be buggy as all hell and look and run like shit even on the hardware it was developed for.

Like because the games are open world or open levels, that means there are going to be allot of unforeseeable glitches, bugs and other random stuff going on.in that open world. Also, don't forget that these games uses allot of random nonsensical technology in the engine that has not really anything to do with gameplay, it is just there because they've said to themselves it is going to be more realistic. And they believe in that nonsense of realism and then forget that their whole game is other than realistic. So there is allot of corruption, nonsensical stuff and diversity hires going on to make the games being more and more expensive. To be fair, there have been people trying to make a classical-like games but they've taken as much time but with the fraction of the people.But you hear Gen Z and other people complaining because it isn't "modern enough" and that is kinda the problem, people expect to have their hands being held at every moment.

You can have all of the programmers in the world but if none of them play or messes with games then they are going to get skeewed view of what is and isn't possible in games as a medium, most of the people that made games in 90s to early 00s where tabletop rpg gamers, so they had a view of what games could become, no that they reached it by the time they made them, and they fall into the same traps of comparing movies to games.

Other people are puritans and don't want to play anything that isn't retro, even games that are more or less a love letter to those games but because there is a nigger or a fag, then it is automatically shit even when they didn't play the game.Or they want a pure carbon copy of the same game, over and over again. Then you have people that don't want to try anything new, because of their autism or because games are so expensive that they are afraid of playing anything that is derivation of the original game or games.

On another note I love how Diablo 2 was developed by a little over or under 100 people and its widely remembered as a classic but Diablo 4 and Toddfield are already being forgotten.
